Released as a single in 2023, "Pour Some Sugar on Me" is a track by American jazz collective Postmodern Jukebox, formed by pianist Scott Bradlee in 2011. The song was originally written and recorded by the English rock band Def Leppard, who included it in their 1987 fourth studio album, Hysteria. While the original was an attempt at a pop crossover inspired by the success of Aerosmith and Run-DMC's "Walk This Way," Postmodern Jukebox's version imbues the Def Leppard classic with a glossy big-band jazz feel that effortlessly incorporates elements from lounge music, early rock and roll, and easy listening. Originally written towards the end of the Hysteria's recording, the song emerged from a riff by lead singer Joe Elliott and was refined into a hit under the guidance of producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange. The songwriting process involved innovative stream-of-consciousness techniques, leading to its memorable lyrics and dual intros, with the phrase "love is like a bomb" setting the tone.
