The rapper/singer has been a longtime Pokémon fan and was thrilled to be asked to headline the virtual Pokémon Day Concert on February 27th, 2021. The star still owns a Game Boy Color specifically to play Pokémon. "Only Wann Be with You" was a huge hit for the Hootie & the Blowfish in 1994. Malone’s version contains samples of music from Pokémon games and he switched Dolphins to Cowboys for the football team mentioned in the lyric “I'm such a baby 'cause the Cowboys make me cry."
