Philadelphia native David Bowden, known to the world as Pink Sweat$, has been delivering a steady influx of left-field R&B ballads since his debut back in 2018. Originally a songwriter and producer for artists like Tierra Whack and Florida Georgia Line, he rose to streaming fame with his first single "Honesty" (2018), which reached the Top 10 of Spotify's US Viral Chart shortly after. Following the release of the EPs Volume 1 (2018) and Volume 2 (2019), Pink Sweat$ began teasing his studio debut in 2020 with another extended play titled The Prelude. The EP included the single "At My Worst," a mellow R&B tune in which the narrator pledges loyalty to his lover and asks her to stay by his side even in the most difficult situations. Written by Pink Sweat$ and producer John Hill, "At My Worst" reached Number 22 in the US, Number 1 in Malaysia, and Number 2 in Singapore, becoming his first charting single. A remix featuring singer Kehlani made its way to Sweat$'s studio debut Pink Planet, released in 2021.
