Built around a classic Roland TR-909 drum machine and featuring background vocals from none other than Sting and Peter Gabriel – as well as Culture Club backing vocalist Helen Terry"Take Me Home" has all the ingredients for an '80s pop hit. Peaking at Number 7 in the US and co-produced with Hugh Padgham, "Take Me Home" was released as a single in the UK in July 1985 (March 1986 in the US) as the final track on Phil Collins' third solo album, No Jacket Required (1985). It was inspired by the Ken Kesey novel set in an Oregon psychiatric hospital, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Although ambiguous, the song's lyrics point towards a similar theme: "Take that look of worry, mine's an ordinary life / Working when it's daylight, and sleeping when it's night / I've got no far horizons, I don't wish upon a star / They don't think that I listen, oh, but I know who they are." "Take Me Home" has turned up in various covers and reworks over the years, including via hip-hoppers Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. This live version of "Take Me Home" was captured at Phil Collins's Finally - The First Farewell Tour in 2004.
