A soft-rock blast from the '80s, "Sweet Life" is a sweet-natured ballad written, composed, and recorded by long-haired US singer-songwriter Paul Davis. Released in 1977 as the third single from his 1977 album Singer of Songs: Teller of Tales, the song conveys an idyllic snapshot of domestic bliss, an easy-going existence where life's simple pleasures and the everyday are savoured. "She's got your eyes / She's got my nose / Oh, I get high just watching her grow / I always dreamed we'd live in a castle, oh but / We're in the same old shack / Sometimes we get into a hassle / But we always take each other back / Oh, you know / All our friends seem to be in a hurry / But we'll just keep on taking our time," he sings in the opening verse. Paul Davis scored a pop hit with "Sweet Life," which soared to Number 17 on the Billboard chart in late 1978 and also made it to Number 15 in Canada. The song was given a country makeover in 1988 when Paul Davis joined forces with Marie Osmond for a US Top 50 duet.

Nice version. Couldn't find any other version by other companies - don't know why it took so long for someone to put it out, but glad KV did! Thanks!

From Texas: A great song by the late Paul Davis. His duet version with Marie Osmond is also one for the ages. We lost Paul way too soon & he is missed by many.
