“Happier” is a song by Olivia Rodrigo from her chart-topping debut album Sour. Like many of the songs on the album, “Happier” deals with relationships and working through the emotions of jealousy and sadness. In this song, she’s past much of the bitterness she expressed in “Driver’s License”and “Traitor” and now she's just wrestling with trying to wish her ex happiness but maybe not quite as much happiness as he had when they were a couple. “So find someone great but don't find no one better / I hope you're happy, but don't be happier.” Producer Dan Nigro told Billboard that the young artist had emailed him some songs in hopes they might work together. He was intrigued and checked out her Instagram where he heard “Happier.” He was blown away by her voice and songwriting and immediately contacted her to start working together.
