Olivia Newton-John’s “I Honestly Love You” marked a turning point in her career when it dropped in 1974. Written by Peter Allen and Jeff Barry, the ballad was released as the lead single from the album Long Live Love and later included on the U.S. version of If You Love Me, Let Me Know. It became Olivia Newton-John’s first number 1 hit in the U.S., topping both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Adult Contemporary charts. “I Honestly Love You” also won two Grammy AwardsRecord of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female—in 1975. The song’s lyrics express the vulnerability of confessing love without expectation, while its soft arrangement leans on mellow piano, gentle strings, and Olivia Newton-John’s breathy delivery. It was re-recorded multiple times, including a 1998 version with Babyface and a 2016 duet with Delta Goodrem. The track remains one of Olivia Newton-John’s signature songs and helped solidify her international stardom.

This is closer to the original 1974 release of this song. Olivia re-recorded it in 1994 with an arrangement by Keith Babyface Edmonds. That is the version that was available on this site. I prefer the latter.
