One of the most heartbreaking chronicles of a failing relationship, the Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand chart-topping hit "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" went on to become one of the most iconic duets in pop music history. Written by Neil Diamond with Alan and Marilyn Bergman, the track was initially meant to be used as the theme song for the TV sitcom All That Glitters. Due to copyright issues and a change in the show's premise, the track finally saw the light on Neil Diamond's 1977 eleventh studio album I'm Glad You're Here with Me Tonight. Only a year later, Barbra Streisand included a cover of the song in her LP Songbird. Thanks to the massive popularity of both tracks, radio DJs across the United States began interpolating the two, prompting the artists to record an official duet version in late 1978. The song became an instant classic and reached Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the Cash Box Top 100. In 1980, Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand performed the song live for the first time at the Annual Grammy Awards ceremony.
