"Almost Like Being in Love" is a classic show tune written by the songwriting duo Frederick Loewe (music) and Alan Jay Lerner (lyrics) for their 1947 musical Brigadoon. Nat King Cole's multiple recordings of the tune have also left a lasting impression, with one version featuring in the 1993 film Groundhog Day. In 1991, Nat King Cole's daughter Natalie recorded her own version of the song on her twelfth studio album, Unforgettable... with Love. Backed by big-band jazz instrumentation, Natalie Cole's rendition pays tribute to her father while offering a refreshing new take on the famed classic. "Almost Like Being in Love" lyrically explores the euphoria and disbelief of newfound love, mirroring the musical's romantic and mystical themes. Initially performed by David Brooks and Marion Bell on Broadway, the song gained further popularity through Gene Kelly's rendition in the 1954 film adaptation.
