When Thomas Rhett wrote "Whiskey'd My Way" he knew he had something. The Acadamy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year loved the song but thought it might be a better fit for his friend and fellow country artist Morgan Wallen. It is one of the two Thomas Rhett songs on Wallens' record-breaking Dangerous: The Double Album, the other is "Your Bartender". On "Whiskey'd My Way", Wallen sings that he should be in the "movin' on hall-of-fame" for how well he was able to get over his ex. He lists several options but lands on what did the trick ”Tequila made me crazy / Cold beer wouldn't do / So I whiskey'd my way over you.” The two artists have been hinting at a possible upcoming duet.
