Michael Bublé recorded Barry White's 70s smash "You're the First, the Last, My Everything" for his eleventh album Higher. The song, written by Peter Radcliffe and Tony Sepe, was originally a country song titled, "You're My First, You're My Last, My In-Between." Early in his career, when White was struggling financially, Radcliffe bought Christmas gifts for his children, a kind gesture the singer never forgot. Later, as White started having hits, Radcliffe played him the country song he'd been shopping around for 21 years. Though it seemed an unlikely fit, White said he could hear something in the song. After modifying the lyrics, adding his soulful voice, and lush production, the song became White's third #1 on the Billboard R&B chart. It also reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
