The song was featured in the 1978 action-comedy Every Which Way but Loose, which starred Clint Eastwood, as well as the movie Bandit Goes Country (in which "Coca Cola Cowboy" artist Mel Tillis also appeared). "You're just a Coca Cola cowboy / You got an Eastwood smile and a Robert Redford hair / But you walked across my heart like it was Texas / You taught me how to say I just don't care," he sings on the swooning, foot-shuffling track that shot to the top of the US Hot Country Songs chart in August 1979 and became Mel Tillis's fifth Number 1 on the US country singles chart. Miraculously, this song bears no affiliation to the carbonated soft drink.
