"Bright Blue Rose" is an enduring folk ballad inextricably linked with celebrated Irish singer Mary Black, whose pristine voice and moving performance of the song earned her accolades across the board. "Bright Blue Rose" was originally penned by Macroom-born singer-songwriter Jimmy MacCarthy who crafted a treasure trove of compositions that included "Missing You" and "Mystic Lipstick," among others.
