On "Cold as You," Luke Combs paints a rip-roaring picture of a country bar where everything is in its right place: "They got "Whiskey River" on the jukebox / A honky tonk sawdust dance floor / A neon, five o'clock, pro clock / And plenty damn many when you want one more / This broke-heart fool on an old bar stool / Drinkin' beer almost as cold as you," sings the double Grammy-winning, North Carolina-born country artist. The song, in which a heartbroken guy heads to the nearest bar to drown his sorrows, was performed live at the 2020 CMA Awards and 2021 CMT Music Awards. In October 2020, Luke Combs uploaded an acoustic rendition of "Cold as You," which was dedicated to his parents, wife and fans, and the song was released as a single in July 2021 as the seventh single from the deluxe edition of his second studio album, What You See Is What You Get.
