Lil' Jon perfected the high-energy art of crunk—a fast, catchy Southern rap style characterized by shouted vocals—first with Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz in the late 1990s and early 2000s and then as a solo artist, releasing his trailblazing debut Crunk Rock in 2006. Featuring E-40 (who had turned heads a few months earlier with his Lil' Jon-produced single "Tell Me When to Go") and YoungBloodZ rapper Sean P, and with a video directed by Hype Williams, "Snap Yo Fingers" was the full hip-hop package. On this Patrón tequlia-doused sizzler, "Snap Yo Fingers," Lil' Jon asserts his dominance ("I do it so good, I don't need nobody else") while hyping up his audience to dance: "Look around the club, what do I see / Everybody rockin’ side to side to the beat / Snappin’ they fingers, bouncin’ to the groove / All by they self, that’s the new move." The song peaked at number one on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
