Atlanta VIP Lil' Jon is better known as the king of crunk. Launching himself on the rap scene with the East Side Boyz debut album, Get Crunk, Who U Wit: Da Album in 1997, he has been lighting up the circuit ever since. Crunk is associated with electronic bass and catchphrases like those endorsed by Lil' Jon ("Yeah," "What" and "Okay"). Littered with trunk-rattlers like "Crunk Juice", it's one of the most party-friendly rap subgenres around. Taking a momentary back seat away from the booty-shaking sound of typical love, "Lovers and Friends" featured the smooth operating vocals of Usher and US rapper Ludacris for one of the standout tracks on the fifth and final album from Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz, Crunk Juice (2004). This slow and silken soul jam may have been a departure from party rap but the gamble paid off; "Lovers and Friends" rose to Number three on the US Billboard Hot 100, and Number 10 on the UK Singles Chart.
