Like Bob Dylan, Glenn Campbell and a long line of others before him, John Mayer delivers an address on the itinerant lifestyle with his 2013 track "Call Me the Breeze," a cover of a swampy rocker by J. J. Cale, which was featured as the opening track to the latter’s 1972 debut album, Naturally. "They call me the breeze / I keep blowing down the road / They call me the breeze / I keep blowing down the road / I've got nobody / I'm carrying no load," begins John Mayer in his fiery take of the 12-bar blues song. On "Call Me the Breeze," he's not sure where he's headed to, but that's just part of the fun. "I got that green light babe / I've got to keep moving on / I got that green light, babe / I've got to keep moving on / I might go up to California / Might go down to Georgia / I don’t know," he continues. John Mayer included his interpretation of the tune, which has also been covered by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Johnny Cash, on his 2013 album Paradise Valley.
