Sometimes all it takes to bring a song to that next level is a well-placed violin. John Legend’s “All of Me” was already a massive hit upon its release in 2013 when it served as one of the singles of John Legend’s fourth studio album Love in the Future. Written by John Stephens and Toby Gad, and produced by John Legend along with Dave Tozer, “All of Me” made it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it stayed for 3 weeks. This was the first Number 1 hit on the Billboard 100 chart for John Legend. “All of Me” was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance. So when the idea came up to collaborate with violinist Lindsey Stirling to bring her virtuoso level playing to the heartfelt ballad, it seemed like a natural fit for all involved. A music video, with the duo performing the song on a rooftop decorated with rose petals, was shot to accompany this version of the song and released on Lindsey Stirling’s YouTube channel.
