Despite receiving little to no promotion leading up to its release, J. Cole's third studio effort 2014 Forest Hills Drive (2014) consolidated the rapper as one of the strongest and most influential voices in hip-hop. Taking its name from his childhood home in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the album documented J. Cole's meteoric rise to rap stardom, from his humble beginnings to signing with Jay-Z's Roc Nation, one of the most prominent labels in the music industry. Shortly after its release, 2014 Forest Hills Drive topped the Billboard 200 and the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, mainly thanks to the success of the single "No Role Modelz," a sad reflection of a society that's grown shallow and materialistic due to a lack of positive role models. Produced by J. Cole himself with Phonix Beats, "No Role Modelz" samples Project Pat's 2001 hit "Don't Save Her" during the hook and also features a clip of a George W. Bush speech right before the bridge. It also peaked at Number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100.
