"Hallowed Be Thy Name" is the closing track on Iron Maiden's 1982 classic album, The Number of the Beast. Written by bassist Steve Harris, the song's narrative, rich in philosophical depth, narrates the final thoughts of a prisoner facing execution. Clocking in at 7' 11'', "Hallowed Be Thy Name" is a heavy metal epic that perfectly encapsulates the band's instrumental prowess. In time, it became Iron Maiden's signature song and was covered by bands such as Dream Theater, Machine Head, Cradle of Filth, and Iced Earth. However, the song's legacy is not without controversy. A portion of its lyrics, borrowed from Beckett's 1973 song "Life's Shadow," led to legal challenges. Initially settled with co-writer Robert Barton, a subsequent claim by the other songwriter, Brian Ingham, emerged, revealing complexities behind the song's creation. The band resolved this dispute out of court in 2018 through their management.

your first version was only 10 seconds longer but extremely accurate to the original. time for accuracy I pick musical accuracy EVERY time!! played both versions each simultaneously against a performance by Iron Maiden themselves... couldn't be more right on, except for some variance in the guide vocalists accent... I'll stick with your first version, because you can't improve perfection... thank you for doing such great works though!!
