"I Know Things Now" is a song from the soundtrack of the 2014 American musical fantasy film Into the Woods, an adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's 1986 Broadway musical of the same name. A psychological exploration of the fairy tale genre, the film follows a childless couple trying to lift a curse placed on them by a witch and features references to several books by the Grimm Brothers, including Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel. Performed in the film by American actress Lilla Crawford, "I Know Things Now" finds the character of Little Red Riding Hood reflecting on the events that led her to the Big Bad Wolf's grasp. Right after being removed from the creature's stomach, Little Red Riding Hood makes an extensive list of all the things she's learned from the experience, offering the musical equivalent of the traditional lesson or moral at the end of the story.
