Success came rather early for English jazz pop singer Helen Shapiro, who was thrust into the limelight in 1961 after scoring two back-to-back Number 1 hits ("You Don't Know" and "Walkin' Back to Happiness") in the UK when she was just fourteen years old. After landing two Top 10 entries in 1962 ("Tell Me What He Said" and "Little Miss Lonely"), Helen Shapiro returned in 1963 with single "Queen for Tonight," reaching Number 33 on the Official UK Singles Chart and Number 97 on Australia's Kent Music Report. Written by American composers Ben Raleigh and Art Wayne, "Queen for Tonight" was first recorded by French pop singer and actor Johnny Hallyday in 1962 but it was Shapiro who truly helped popularize the track. With lyrics that revolve around a woman unsure of her lover's true intentions, "Queen for Tonight" went on to be included in several compilations by the singer in the following decades.
