New York City's indie entertainment tastemakers A24 rolled out their first animated project in 2024; an eight-episode music-packed series called Hazbin Hotel, aimed at adults. The popular show focuses on Charlie Morningstar, princess of Hell, tasked with rehabilitating sinners for their entry into Heaven. The musical element of Hazbin Hotel was composed and written by Andrew Underberg and Sam Haft and comprises a slew of stylistically diverse tunes that bring the characters and themes off the page. Performed by Hazbin Hotel bartender, Husk (voiced by Keith David) and adult entertainer Angel Dust (voiced by Blake Roman), "Loser, Baby" is a quirky Broadway-esque number in which the two characters share their difficulties and find catharsis and solidarity. "Loser, Baby" appeared in the fourth episode of Hazbin Hotel, “Masquerade," and on the Hazbin Hotel Original Soundtrack (Part 1), which was issued in January 2024.
