"Me and My Arrow" is a paean to the imagination. Penned by Harry Nilsson, the track was first released in 1971 as part of the animated film The Point! and later took on a life of its own to become a culturally significant fable laden with layers and meaning. Featuring narration by Ringo Starr, The Point! tells the heart-warming, quirky tale of a boy named Oblio, the only person with a round head in his Pointed Village, and his dog, Arrow. It doubles up as a metaphorical meditation on being an outsider. Written during a drug-powered period of creativity, this bucolic pop idyll was released by Harry Nilsson as a single in 1971 when it reached number 34 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 3 on the Adult Contemporary chart. The song has since been sampled in the Blackalicious song "Blazing Arrow" (on their 2002 album by the same name) and made an appearance in the "To Cur with Love" episode of The Simpsons as the theme for Homer Simpson and his dog Bongo.
