"Wait for Me" is a song from Hall & Oates from their eighth studio album X-Static. The duo, made up of Daryl Hall and John Oats, were redefining their sound. They topped the charts with earlier hits "She's Gone" and "Sara Smile" but had trouble finding chart success with several of the albums released in the late 70s. "Wait for Me" is a beautifully crafted song, full of infectious hooks and harmonies. It only reached #18 but Hall calls it one of the best songs he's ever written. By their next album they were dominating the charts with the hits "Kiss on My List" and "You Make My Dreams". Their photogenic good looks and catchy songs were a perfect fit for the brand new 24-hour music channel MTV.
