Grupo Frontera aka Adelaido Solís III “Payo” (vocals and bajoquinto), Julián Peña Jr. (percussionist), Carlos Frontera (drums), Alberto Acosta (guitar), Carlos Zamora (bass), and Juan Javier Cantú (accordionist and second voice) formed in 2022 and quickly rose through the ranks of Mexico's regional música norteña scene to become one of the world's top modern Latin artists. Their hit rendition of "No se va" is one of the ensemble's most well-known songs and helped to boost their global popularity. In 2022, the six-piece group from McAllen, Texas, released their norteño rendition of the song originally released by the Colombian band Morat in 2019. Thanks to the Grupo Frontera cover, “No se va” achieved a historic feat of becoming only the fifth regional Mexican song in Hot 100 history, where it reached number 57 largely thanks to its viral success on TikTok, and its debut on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart in September 2022.
