"Now your papa's getting down, momma's saying you're no good / Baby, it's a shame it's never really understood / How a dose of rock and roll can make your heart feel good", roars Jack Russell in a fiery love letter to the devil's music. Great White dive into hefty riff territory on this electrifying maelstrom of meat-and-potatoes hard rock, which does exactly what it says on the tin, stirring up a tidal wave of gutsy vocals and gnarly guitar solos that stretch out for miles. "Call It Rock 'n' Roll" opened the Los Angeles band's 1991 album Hooked, the follow-up to their glam metal winner ...Twice Shy, which spawned a career-defining hit in their cover of Ian Hunter's "Once Bitten, Twice Shy." Hooked saw Great White toast the new decade with a top 20 album on the Billboard 200 chart and was later certified gold in April 1991. It also marked their last record with bassist Tony Montana.
