Co-written by Glenn Campbell and Jerry Capeheart (although the former isn't credited), the track kicked off Glenn Campbell's illustrious pop-meets-country career; a year after its release, he was signed to Capitol Records and featured in a bluegrass record with a group called The Green River Boys.
