Penned by Country Music Hall of Fame and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Bobby Braddock, and immortalised by late country scene-stealer George Jones, "Billy B. Bad" takes a tongue-in-cheek swipe at Nashville's supposedly fickle star-making factory line. The song depicts "a suburban boy named Billy B Bad" who “looks cute in his cowboy suit" and becomes a "country sex symbol," before being over the hill at just 29. "Billy B. Bad" was featured on George Jones's 1996 album I Lived to Tell It All, which was released as a companion piece to his raved-about autobiography of the same name. The LP reached number 26 on the Billboard country albums chart. Produced by another Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member, Norro Wilson, the album was fortified with hearty country fare sung in the George Jones mould, from opening party-starter "Honky Tonk Song" and "I'll Give You Something to Drink About" to "I Must Have Done Something Bad."
