From car mechanic to top-charting country star, Kenny Chesney's career skyrocketed after the release of his 1975 "Bad Water" single for the Resco label. This paved the way for a succession of top ten hits in the '70s, including 1975 ballad "Love in the Hot Afternoon" while bookending the '80s with 1982 chart-topper "Fourteen Carat Mind" and 1988 top ten hit "Don't Waste It on the Blues". He continued to put out albums consistently throughout the '90s and '00s, marking his 50th year of music with the release of Best of the Best, 25 Greatest Hits in 2012.
