"I like New York in June, how about you? / I like a Gershwin tune, how about you? / I love a fireside when a storm is due / I like potato chips, moonlight motor trips, how about you?," asks Frank Sinatra, boosted by big band brass in this question-filled number from 1956. "How About You?" was recorded by "The Sultan of Swoon" for his award-winning Capitol album, Songs for Swingin' Lovers!, his tenth album and fourth for the label that unwittingly blazed a trail for the unrelated partner-swapping term 'swinging', which wouldn't enter the English vernacular until the '60s. Loaded with unforgettable Frank Sinatra heart-warmers like "You Make Me Feel So Young," "Pennies from Heaven," "You Brought a New Kind of Love to Me" and "I've Got You Under My Skin," Songs for Swingin' Lovers! was arranged by Nelson Riddle and made history as the first-ever album ever to top the UK Albums Chart.

Augier1 3 years agoThe brass section is good. The overall sound needs to be more "open" as you feel that the orchestra is playing in a confined locked room. Perhaps one of the solutions would be to increase the treble.
