"Baubles, bangles, hear how they jing, jinga-linga / Baubles, bangles, bright shiny beads / Sparkles, spangles, your heart will sing, singa-linga / Wearin' baubles, bangles and beads," evokes Frank Sinatra in this shiny, happy, sparkly scene of "Baubles, Bangles and Beads." Enjoying its first official outing in Kismet, a 1953 musical adapted by Charles Lederer and Luther Davis from the 1911 play of the same name by Edward Knoblock, the jazzy song – written by Robert Wright and George Forrest – was a chart hit for Peggy Lee on September 16, 1953, with other versions recorded that same year by Lu Ann Simms and Georgia Gibbs. In 1959, Frank Sinatra turned his attention to the Alexander Borodin-inspired show tune for his 1959 album, Come Dance With Me!, which became a huge success, spending an eye-popping two and a half years on the Billboard charts and winning the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, as well as Grammy Award for Best Vocal Performance (Male) at the Grammy Awards of 1960.
