Hard rock heroes Extreme birthed a headbanging beast of a track with 1990's "It ('a a Monster)," on which they wail; "Everybody was born in it / Sure as hell gonna die in it / Some people don't give a shit / No, no, whether or not they're full of it." The Boston band were at the peak of their powers when they dropped this high-octane song, first formed in 1985 by original members Gary Cherone (lead vocals), Nuno Bettencourt (guitars and keyboards), Paul Geary (drums and percussion), and Pat Badger (bass guitar) and quickly picking up steam during the late 1980s and early 1990s to take up their position as one of the latter decade's biggest rock outfits. "It ('s a Monster)" was featured on their hit 1990 album Pornograffitti, which rose to Number 10 on the Billboard 200, and was certified gold in May 1991 and double platinum in October 1992, also famously spawning an unlikely trademark tune in the chart and radio-dominating ballad "More Than Words".
