Featured on their aptly titled 2021 album The Bitter Truth, with "Better Without You" Little Rock, Arkansas rockers Evanescence serve up a dose of hard-hitting honesty and critique of the music industry that doesn't hold back. "Now look around and remember your friends if you can / Feeding the flames 'til there's no one to blame, it's on your hands / Lost in your lies, pay the price with our lives, you've gone mad / And there's no way out / 'Cause we all know you're hollow," sings vocalist Amy Lee of her struggles as guitars and synth explode in the furious rock landscape. The Bitter Truth marked the band’s second record with producer Nick Raskulinecz and the goth-rock band's first LP in more than three years, following 2017's Synthesis. "Better Without You" was released as the fourth single in March 2021, following third single "Use My Voice."
