Also known as "Poor Wayfaring Stranger," or "I Am a Poor Wayfaring Stranger," this American folk standard was likely conceived in the middle of the 19th century and has been reworked and reimagined by numerous artists over the years, including Jack White who performed the song as his character Georgia in the 2003 war epic Cold Mountain. For her 1980 version of "Wayfaring Stranger," Emmylou Harris put a country music spin on the song, which was then featured on her album Roses in the Snow.
