"Twilight" is a song by Electric Light Orchestra from the album Time. Time was a concept album, a rock opera about a man who is forcebly taken from present time (1981) to the year 2095. The man is struggling between learning all about the advancements in the future but also missing his old life. "Twilight" finds him falling asleep in a twilight state and imagining where the future will take him. "The visions dancing in my mind / The early dawn, the shades of time / Twilight crawling through my windowpane. " Many anime and manga enthusiasts became aware of the song when it was used for the Daicon IV opening animation video at the 1983 Nihon SF Taikai convention. The convention was one of the largest of its kind in history. Time is the first concept album written about time travel.
