Ed Sheeran jumps on the gaming bandwagon in this fantasy-dusted single from 2022, released in collaboration with The Pokémon Company and featured in Nintendo Switch games Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. The UK superstar even got a (fake) tattoo of the Squirtle Pokémon on his arm to tease the collaboration. This low-calorie electronic-pop ditty is a celebration of all things Pokémon, doubling up a love song where astronomy-led metaphors abound. “You make me feel / Like I’m drunk on stars, and we’re dancing out into space", he coos, sprinkling a layer of magic in lines like, "Findin' magic in all the smallest things (Celestial, ohh). "Celestial” – which was featured as the 19th track on = (Equals)’s deluxe version – was accompanied by a partially animated music video packed with Pokémon sketches rendered by Yu Nagaba, from a Snorlax that saves the star from a car accident to a Lapras that guides him across a river.
