Gangsta rap god Eazy-E began his career in N.W.A. in 1986 and performed on all four of the group's studio albums. In 1988, he made his solo foray with debut album Eazy-Duz-It, produced by Dr. Dre and DJ Yella, which went to Number 41 on the Billboard 200. He went one step further with his second EP, It's On (D̵r̵.̵ ̵D̵r̵e̵) 187um Killa, which was released on November 5, 1993 and is one of the only hip-hop EPs to go multi-platinum. Also featuring guest rappers Gangsta Dresta and BG Knocc Out, "Real Muthaphuckkin G's" was one of the EP's singles. Loaded with g-funk synths, the track takes the form as a diss track ("See, you's a wannabe 'loc, and you'll get smoked, and I hope / That your fans understand when you talk about sprayin' me / The same records that you makin' is payin' me") with Eazy-E responding to N.W.A bandmate Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, who had dissed him on Dr. Dre's first solo album, The Chronic. It became Eazy-E's highest-charting single on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at Number 42.
