"Two Doors Down" is a song by country artist, Dwight Yoakum. The song comes from the artist's fifth and most successful album This Time. Producer /guitarist Pete Anderson explained that although Yoakam had success with his previous releases, with this album, the hope was to solidify the singer as a unique artist, the way Johnny Cash could record in different musical settings but it still sounded like Johnny Cash music. This Time contains songs that blend Yoakam’s Bakersfield sound with other musical textures, like the experimental "A Thousand Miles from Nowhere" and the Roy Orbison styled "Ain't That Lonely Yet”. "Two Doors Down" takes him back to the honky-tonk for a heartbreak drinking song. ”From the hotel to the barroom / Is just a stumble and a fall / And sometimes when it gets bad / I've been known to crawl."
The backing track for "Two Doors Down" is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
