Drake Milligan slipped effortlessly into Elvis Presley's blue suede shoes for the hit CMT series Sun Records and brings a stadium's worth of rock 'n' roll energy to much of his own country music exploits. The self-titled debut EP from the former Elvis Presley impersonator reached the shelves in 2021 and his Dallas/Fort Worth full-length followed in 2022; a neotraditional communiqué on which he stayed true to his Texas roots. The success of the LP paved the way for his induction into the Grand Ole Opry later that year while he kept up the momentum with his 2024 EP Jukebox Songs, created with the assistance of Texas producer Trent Willmon. Penned with Bobby Pinson, Matt Rogers and Ben Stennis, "Don't Leave Me Loving You" is one of the EP's more gut-wrenching emotional moments, a soaring heartbreak ballad that eschews rock 'n' roll swagger for searing vulnerability ("Come leave my heart broken in half").
