The motley LA rock crew comprising vocalist Dorothy Martin, drummer Jason Ganberg, guitarists Devon Pangle and Eli Wulfmeier, and bassist Eliot Lorango formed in LA in 2014 and dropped their debut self-title EP that year. Their first full-length, Rockisdead (stylized as ROCKISDEAD), arrived two years later, and was lapped up by the big and small screen, with its singles featured in everything from Orange Is the New Black to US heist thriller film Now You See Me 2. Dorothy's stone-cold, jangling rock feels primed for the crime genre. In 2022, they strengthened their gothic grip on the scene with their third album, Gifts from the Holy Ghost. Released as one of the singles from the album, "Rest in Peace" explores themes like freedom from oppression, burying demons, and taking back power, illuminated by its powerful, no-holds-barred chorus, on which lead singer Dorothy Martin sings, "You can’t hang your chains on me (On me) / When you're six feet deep / This heart ain’t yours to bleed (To bleed) / Now that yours no longer beats."
