"Crying in the Rain" is a song recorded by country artist Don Williams. The song was originally a hit for the Everly Brothers in 1962. It was written by Carole King and Howard Greenfield. Carole King's usual writing partner was Gerry Goffin and Howard Greenfield's was Jack Keller but they decided to switch partners for a day as a bit of an experiment. King and Greenfield came up with "Crying in the Rain.” Despite the song becoming a top 10 hit for the Everly Brothers, the two never wrote another song together. "Crying in the Rain" has been covered by many other artists. It became a hit again for the Norwegian band A-ha in 1989. The band was presented a pair of guitars from the Everly Brothers to celebrate their version of the song.
