It’s performed by American singer Ariana Grande and rapper Kid Cudi, and written by both artists in collaboration with Nicholas Britell and Taura Stinson. The film depicts an apocalyptic event which turns into a political debate between a party that urges citizens to look away from the impending crisis and another that insists it is faced head-on. “Just Look Up” is written as a parody of an inspiring radio anthem for the latter, with its emotive piano backing and power-ballad structure. It features lyrics that pivot from romance to an apocalyptic theme. The song peaked at Number 7 on the NZ Hot Singles chart.
