On this swooning doo-wop delight from Don and Juan, the lovesick protagonist yearns to woo the object of their affection – but they need to know a few details first. "What's your name? / Is it Mary or Sue? / What's your name? / Do I stand a chance with you?," croon Roland "Don" Trone and Claude "Juan" (aka "Sonny") Johnson, blending their voices in perfect vocal harmony. "What's Your Name" was originally written by Claude "Juan" Johnson and immortalised by the duo for Big Top Records in 1962, when it rose to number seven on the Billboard pop charts and gave the Long Bech artists their only Top 40 hit. The track was later given a new lease of life when it appeared on the soundtrack of It Came from Hollywood – a filmic compendium of B-movies with narration from the likes of John Candy and Dan Aykroyd – in 1982, and has also been covered by the likes of '80s R&B group New Edition and others.
