The Sound of Silence - Disturbed - MP3 instrumental karaoke

When US heavy metallers Disturbed unleashed their grandiose, emotionally charged take on Simon and Garfunkel's haunting 1964 folk-rock classic "The Sound of Silence" live on Conan in March 2016, they watched as the plaudits came flooding in. The Paul Simon-approved track, which was featured on the band's 2015 album Immortalized and peaked at Number 42 on the Billboard Hot 100, see Disturbed lead singer Dave Draiman deliver a rock tour de force, roars and growling the lyrics like: "And the people bowed and prayed / To the neon God they made / And the sign flashed out its warning / In the words that it was forming" And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls and tenement halls" / And whispered in the sound of silence." In March 21, 2013, Simon and Garfunkel's original song was added to the National Recording Registry in the Library of Congress for long-term preservation along with the rest of their 1966 Sounds of Silence album on which the track is included.
