Unfurling with pared-back instrumentation, as the track segues into the chorus ("I'm a riser / I'm a get off of the ground, don't run and hider / Pushing comes to shove / Hey, I'm a fighter / When darkness comes to town, I'm a lighter / A get out aliver of the fire / Survivor) Dierks Bentley adds more oomph, flashes of electric guitar and a vocal harmony eventually slides into view. "Riser" is featured on Dierks Bentley's seventh studio album of the same name, which went to Number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart and was also nominated for Best Country Album at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in 2015.
