You can't get much smoother than this fireside smoothie from "The King of Cool" himself, Dean Martin. "I'm Confessin' (That I Love You)" is a slow-moving dreamscape hooked to a vulnerable declaration: "I'm confessin' that I love you / Tell me do you love me too." The original song is credited to Chris Smith and Sterling Grant, and recorded by Thomas "Fats" Waller & His Babies in 1929 and became a jazz and popular standard immortalised by a number of high-profile artists over the years, including Perry Como in 1945 and Thelonious Monk in 1965. Dean Martin leaned into a pop sensibility for his crooner reimagining of "I'm Confessin' (That I Love You)," featured on the star's aptly titled 1964 album Dream with Dean, which climbed to number 15 on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned other singles in Fools Rush In (Where Angels Fear to Tread),” Blue Moon,” Everybody Loves Somebody and I Don’t Know."
