"Crawling from the Wreckage" is a single by Welsh rocker Dave Edmunds, included in his 1979 fifth album Repeat When Necessary, released via Led Zeppelin's record imprint Swan Song. The track is a rollicking rock'n'roll number whose humorous lyrics tell the tale of a man who can't stop drinking while driving and eventually dies in a car crash. It features instrumentation by Dave Edmunds' band Rockpile, composed of Nick Lowe, Billy Bremner, and Terry Williams. Upon its release, "Crawling from the Wreckage" bowed at Number 59 on the Official UK Singles Charts and its parent album peaked at Number 54. Originally written by English singer-songwriter Graham Parker, it became one of Edmunds' trademark songs and showed up on several live recordings by the British artist, including King Biscuit (1999), A Pile of Rock Live (1999), C'mon Everybody (2002), and Alive & Pickin' (2008).
