On this steel guitar-swept country ballad "I Can't See Me Without You," Conway Twitty finds himself trying to get over a former flame. "I see the house, you once called your home / And I see the door you walked through / And I see the road you're leaving me on / But I can't see me without you," he laments, his voice swollen with emotion; a hallmark of Conway Twitty aka "The High Priest of Country Music" and his predilection for romantic-leaning offerings. Written by Johnny Christopher, Wayne Thompson, and Tommy Brasfield, "I Can't See Me Without You" served as the title track from Conway Twitty's 1971 album of the same name, which rolled all the way to number 4 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1971 and also topped the RPM Country Tracks chart in Canada. I Can't See Me Without You emerged during a successful period for Conway Twitty, who frequented the US Country top 10 throughout the 1970s.
