In October of 2020, country artist Cody Johnson surprised his fans by releasing a cover of the Reba McEntire classic "Whoever's in New England." The song is considered one of Reba's signature songs and was the first song for which she did a video. When Reba sang it, it was about a woman who suspected her husband was cheating while on business trips to New England. Johnson flipped the gender and changed a few words and it became a perfect fit for his incredible voice. He recorded the new version with just his guitar. The hard-working Texan released six albums on his own CoJo label before signing to Warner Music Nashville in 2018. Johnson credits his wife Brandi with inspiring him to pursue his dreams. She was his boss when he was a guard at Huntsville Unit Prison. She told him to quit and to concentrate on his music full time.
